The best time to buy your first futon mattress is as soon as you are in market. Sure, will the 'technology' of the mattress industry continue to grow and expand, sure. But that is no different than automobiles or computers or anything else for that matter. The point is, don't wait.
Sometimes, we get caught in this trap of waiting for the best time to buy that home, make that move, quit that job, have the baby, buy the new bed (futon bed) in this case, etc. While it may not be as serious a consequence as the former choices in that category, the result is the same. If you wait, you just get yourself paralyzed by the fear or apprehension itself. This never serves to help you get what you want.
So, again, the advice here would be to make the move, make the investment in the futon of your choice and be comfortable knowing that you made a good decision. In fact, not only that, but you can sleep like a baby now too.

How Can A Futon Mattress Compare?
This question comes up quite a bit around here. That is, how can a futon mattress even be considered in the same league as a more traditional, brand name mattress. The answer is simple.
The answer is because now futon mattresses can be found with the same features and styles as the classic mattress. Futons can be found with inner coil springs, memory foam and plush toppers. These are some of the more popular styles. You can also still get a futon with the more classic cotton or wool core material. These are often the most comfortable, as they provide for less movement transfer during sleep. This translates into a more sound and restful sleep.
A final point to consider in this match-up is the cost. While it is certainly true that one of the more exotic futon mattresses will be on par in price with a quality traditional mattress, you may still find quite a price difference in futon beds. Many people, when looking at the quality of each, will often be persuaded by the price drop with the futon.
